The Hands Behind PaintZola
Hi, I’m Elara Vance — painter, self-taught colorist, and the person behind every brushstroke of advice you’ll find on this site.
I started PaintZola after years of filling notebooks with color studies and failed canvases nobody saw. What began as personal notes on technique slowly turned into guides, then into a small community of painters figuring things out one layer at a time. I still believe the best lessons come from finished (and unfinished) work on the easel, not theory alone.
“Painting isn’t about getting it right the first time — it’s about staying curious long enough to get it right eventually.”
